50 g yeast
5 dl milk 3%
150 g butter

1 teaspoon salt
16 ml flour, possibly a little more raisins
1 pc egg + 1 tbsp milk for brushing

1. Heat butter and milk in a saucepan to 37 degrees (lukewarm).
2. Crumble the yeast into a roomy bowl. Pour a little of the warm milk mixture into the bowl and mix until all the yeast has dissolved. Mix in the rest of the liquid.
3. Mix cream cheese, saffron, sugar and salt.

7. Cover the dough with a cloth and let rise at room temperature about 60 minutes, shorter if you can’t wait.
8. Lift the dough onto a floured surface and knead a few minutes.
9. Divide the dough into about 30 pieces. Scroll then the pieces to length, about 2 centimeters in diameter.
10. Spin in opposite ends toward the center and place them on a baking sheet that is greased or lined with parchment paper.

12. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees celcius.
13.  Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon milk and brush the buns with the mixture.
14.  Bake in middle of oven about 5-8 minutes until they become golden brown.
15. Remove the buns and let them cool on a rack, don’t let them cool if you want them warm.
16. Buy som Swedish “Julmust” and enjoy.

I actually did try Drinking Blood!

November 6, 2012 at 1:44 PM

I hope u didn’t miss my video, “Drinking Blood“. I got a challenge from my friend Food For Louis, were he wanted me to try and drink some blood.
If you haven´t seen the video, check it out here. I have had a lot of complains and people being angry cause 1: I manage to scare them, and 2: I didn’t drink the blood.

But to let you all know, I did try the blood, and It tasted like blood. Really bad. Here is a video when me, Pontus from Malvin Studios and my Producer Filip try to drink the blood.[stream provider=video flv=x:/www.bigstevefromengland.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Extra-Steve-Drinks-Blood-h2-FLASH-VIDEO-WEBSITE.flv img=x:/www.bigstevefromengland.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Skärmavbild-2012-11-06-kl.-09.15.11.png hd=x:/www.bigstevefromengland.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Extra-Steve-Drinks-Blood-h2-FLASH-VIDEO-WEBSITE-HD.flv mp4=x:/www.bigstevefromengland.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Extra-Steve-Drinks-Blood-MP4-VIDEO-WEBSITE.mp4 embed=true share=true width=630 height=354 dock=true controlbar=over bandwidth=high autostart=false /]

November 5, 2012 at 1:50 PM

My name is Steve. Big Steve.

Hi folks! Here’s an update of what I’ve been up to the past week. Of course I went to see the latest Bond-film. It was great! Only missed the bond-babes, what happened to class-  and why such early exit? Sorry for the spoiler!

I like you! You like med? Follow me on Instagram and get all the latest picture-updates!

Also I tried snus. Again. Nothing like a classic fail! :) Double fail.

Wanna catch a Swede? Use this, works better than vodka! This is typical Swede-bait.
We’ve hardly gotten past Halloween and the “tomte” is invading pushing his fake-coke!

Big Steve RakostOne more Swede-bait! Liquid cheese on a tube. With shrimp flavour!
Make your own?

Big Steve chilling in bedCheck it out! Doing what I’m best at. Chilling in bed.
Working out hard? Rest hard!!

I’m getting engaged! <3 Love ROYAL style!!

October 25, 2012 at 1:13 PM

Big Steve engaged

I am so happy, finally she said “YES”!

She’s been following me ever since I did the Snus-video. Apparentely she was a bit jealous of her sister getting married to a red-neck from Ockelbo so a snus-spitting-barbados-english bloke was exactly what she was looking for! (also she’s into pecks, who isn’t??)

We haven’t made plans for the wedding yet, but we’re thinking Mallorca or maybe Norway (cause I haven’t gotten my last paycheck yet, still waiting… buy some T-shirts folks!) So in a year or two we’re hoping for chocolate-colored babies in the castle in Stockholm.

So happy!! I love my new family, hope I can call Carl XVI Gustaf “DAD”!

ROYAL PEACE! /Big Steve.

Big Ziggy Steve Stardust from England!

October 23, 2012 at 5:21 PM

Hello people of earth! This is me, Big Ziggy Steve Stardust coming at you blog and direct!

Have you ever heard David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars? Well, Halloween is coming up so I decided to try a couple of new colours. I skipped the Bowie-corpse-paint-white-foundation and went straight for the eye-style.

Honestly I haven’t been working to much on putting on make-up (swear!!) so I got a little help.

Didn’t really have the guts to go all the way with the pink lightning bolt across my skull, but I think the magenta and the blue looks just as good on me as on Ziggy Stardust. Agree? :)

Anyway, life is coming along nicely, plenty of things happening with me and my crew out in the Big world outside of Skellefteå. Exciting! More info soon I hope.

One of my fans say I look more like a Happy God of War, haha, maybe so!

Until next time: PEACE brothers and sisters! /Big Steve.

By the way:
<- seen my cousin?
We’re in the same band! ;)

Shooting videos & being Swedish

October 16, 2012 at 1:58 PM

Hi all!

New week, new smiles :)

This week I’m working on a few YouTube videos as always, but I’m also working on a few other projects…

Check it out! This is me on set for a music video.

Big Steve music videoHere I am with a very talented young lady called Sascha. She asked if I could be in her music video… and how could I resist?

She has a great voice! I’ll let you know when the video is done and post it here!

Apart from the usual grind being a YouTube star, I try to blend in to society by doing what the Swedes do: I eat Kexchoklad (a chocolate wafer that all Swedes think contains some sort of super protien and is really sporty just because they sponsor the national ski team) + I watch X-factor.

Being Swedish is sooo easy! ;)

Love to all!

PEACE!! /Big Steve.

Finally found love!

October 9, 2012 at 5:50 PM

Big Steve Stiff Love

LOOK! I’m picking up a woman!

I’ve finally found LOVE, it was at the store all the time. And who says money can’t buy happiness? ;)

No really, malls and mall culture seem to be quite new here in Sweden. It’s not like in the UK and the US where malls and shopping centers are a place to hang out, socialize and relax. Smart concept (for the store owners!)

Big Steve phone shot mirror

Other than picking up stiff women I go about my daily routine, gym, eat, tweet and sleep!

My friend The Tjockis just got back from a trip to Cyprus… which reminds me that the really nice fall that I blogged about is turning colder and darker.

But it’s ok, you can’t have both long light summers AND short light winters.

big steve surströmming canI found this can at the store the other day. The stinkiest dish on earth: Surströmming (fermented herring). I know most of you fans have already seen my Surströmming video. It makes me laugh, it was almost a year ago that I did that video. A lot of things have happened in that time and 104 videos later we’re still going strong in the crew!

One more thing before I leave you, today is Leif Erikson day! Today the US is celebrating the viking who sailed across the ocean 500 years before Columbus “discovered” America. (by the way nobody discovered America, it was there all along ;) ).

And of course, what better way could we celebrate Leif Erikson Day than re-posting my Viking work out video? Have a great week, thursday is new video-day. See you then! PEACE! /Big Steve.

Tonight: Fristy Friday folks!

October 5, 2012 at 3:08 PM

Big Steve Milk

My producers are making me drink all sorts of strange and also utterly normal drinks.

This pic is from my milk-drink. Funny how Swedish people are into milk.

Wanna know what I’m drinking in this week’s Firsty Friday? Find out on my YouTube channel tonight!

Hope you didn’t miss yesterday’s video. A day being Swedish!

PEACE! /Big Steve.

Happy Kanelbullens day! (National Cinnamon Roll Day)

October 4, 2012 at 4:06 PM

Big Steve Kanelbulle 2Hellloooo!

Today in Sweden is Kanelbullens Dag (the National Cinnamon roll day). And to celebrate this all Swedes have vacation since it’s a bank holiday. People gather in the streets and feast on enormous cinnamon rolls and have orgies. (ok, they really don’t but they eat a lot of cinnamon rolls, which is pretty much the same thing!! ;) )

So today the obvious choice when Swedes are having their FIKA is a KANELBULLE. These sweet buns are almost regarded as holy and the recipes are either passed down from generation to generation (or if you’re an immigrant you’ll find them on the back of every package of flour – ’cause hey… what else would you ever want to bake than KANELBULLEZ??!)

The kanelbulle is found in all places in Swedish society. They dwell in all sorts of habitats: petrol stations, fancy restaurants, fika-cafés, deserts in lunch-boxes, snacks for children to bring along on excursions etc etc.

LEA and KanelbulleYou could almost say that Kanelbulle-day is celebrated more than the Sweden’s National Day. Everybody talks about it! Facebook is full of Kanelbulles and I even found this funny pic for all you Star Wars-fans out there.

Wanna become instant Swedish today?

Eat a kanelbulle!
PEACE! /Big Steve.

Food-fever on Instagram! @BigSteveFromEngland

October 1, 2012 at 6:06 PM

Hello everybody! A new week is here. Great!

Lately I’ve been really active on Istagram. You probably know about it and use it, but if you’ve missed it I can teel you that it’s similar to twitter, but it’s image-based only (and it links in with Twitter!).

Are you one of those persons taking snap-shots of food? With all of those nice filters you can make food look really nice. Kind of like food-porn!

Just look at this! It almost looks unreal.

And now there is even a counter-reaction to all these food pics. The slogan is:

I’ve never had a problem with appetite, but all these food pics are making me drool!

Curry and rice

So I tried to make my own contribution to the food pics. How do you like it?

Not quite as nice as the one above? ;) But it tasted good!

Big Steve twitter pic

If you have any food pics of your own you wanna share with me on Instagram – why don’t you tag me in a comment??

Skating, bouncing and walking the line…

September 27, 2012 at 3:24 PM

Big Steve skateboard and wigThere must be something in the water up here in the North of Sweden… My hair grew back this morning and my natural response was to grab my skateboard and hit the streets. (skateboard??! that’s for white guys from California!!) ;)

Erik Lundmark

In tonight’s video I hang out with Erik Lundmark. A true ski-bum who does all sorts of back-breaking stunts -> ON SKIS! (back-breaking for me anyway).

While waiting for the snow Erik practices on the ground and on the trampoline. Back flips… dear lord.

Big Steve walking on ropeI even had to walk the slack line. Don’t think I was enough of a slacker, I made it a few meters, but then I had to step off. Good thing I wasn’t 20 meters up in the air.

Amazing the stuff all these young people around me are into – and how they practice: skating, running on ropes, gymnastics… and then still keeping up with school and work.

When I was younger I played a lot of soccer, but I didn’t get to try all these different sports. Good thing life is long and full of opportunities!

Don’t miss my new video tonight on my YouTube Channel! till then: PEACE! /Big Steve.

When nature attacks: Swedish cows ;)

September 26, 2012 at 5:28 PM

You all know me, a hard core nature-wrestling, hard headed Swedish/English gym guy.

In this picture it’s very obvious how close I am to nature.

…about 15 meters. ;) Have yo ever been close to a cow? They are HUGE! (even when you are Big Steve).Bra for Cow

Swedish people love nature and care a lot for how the animals feel. Some farmers even use bras for their cows!

One other thing about Sweden is this total shameless taking-off-your-shoes-manner. Here is from the gym. I don’t leave my shoes on public display! (Then anybody can smell my patented fragrance) … and NO I don’t have stinky feet, I take care of myself, but… YES I am British so I hide my shoes in my locker!)

I discover new little things about Sweden here every day. But having been here a while things seem less and less strange. (Help! I’m becoming Swedish). Time is passing so quickly. I’ve survived fall, winter, spring, summer and so on here in the north of Sweden. It’s been a great journey.

If you haven’t seem my 100th VIDEO -> check it out. And, you know, comments make me happy! :)
PEACE! /Big Steve.

Tonight is the Big 100!

September 21, 2012 at 12:16 PM

Big Steve in sofa I’m sitting around waiting for the clock to become evening… Tonight we are publishing Big Steve video number 100! Can you believe it?! 100 vids!!

Down below you can see the first Big Steve video we posted on YouTube. Back then all the focus was to do a Blackyoumentary. We extended the plans and it’s still under production. Goona be great (of course, I’m in it, a lot! ;) )

If you haven’t seen all of the vids that we’ve done, why not go to my YouTube Channel and cross them all off your list? I think it’s funny to see how they all change. AND – I really think I’m getting better in front of the camera. And that’s all thanks to support from all you fans and my great team.

PEACE! /Big Steve.

And this is also one of the earliest videos in the Big Steve Line up, 1 week in Sweden!

Tonight’s video: Austrian racing-dudes and Ugandan brothers

September 20, 2012 at 12:12 PM

Big Steve and Austrian bikers

In tonight’s video I’m hanging out with some new international friends. Like these bad Austrian rough necks who just rode their bicycles from Austria all the way to Nordkap. I really admire these two gentlemen. I train at the gym, but I would never ride my bike to Austria just for fun… Keep it real and strong guys!

Big Steve & Mr Uganda

Also I hook up with some new friends I met from the Ugandan Tourist board, they wanted to come and check out what we are up to here in the North. And who would better than me, Big Steve, the original Barbados/English/Swedish-snus-bloke to show them around.

Don’t miss this video tonight on my YouTube channel – my Ugandan friends even danced for me!

Big Steve & Food for LouisRemeber that I blogged about meeting up with som YouTube-stars in the UK? Yes, Food for Louis!

Well, now I’m getting a bit jealous, my Louis-friend is now featured in a hip hop video (check it out below)! I wanna be in a music video too! Anybody know some big cool band that need Big Steve??

(just so you know, I’m NOT gonna eat a dead rabbit off the road just to be in it!!)

Talk soon my friends! Tonight and tomorrow are video-nights. Sharing is caring! ;) PEACE!

/Big Steve.

Back at the gym & Singing Sunday

September 17, 2012 at 4:13 PM

Big Steve at the gym

Hello World!

Feels great to be back at my gym here in Sweden and get into routine again.
Right now I’m working on my next article for Harlem Magazine.

A few days have passed since I made it back to Sweden. I really miss my original Fish’n'Chips. Now I have to feast on reindeer-proteine to bulk up! ;) No really, yesterday I opened a pack of Jätten Citron. All of a sudden it was gone!

Don’t do what I do, do what I say! Work those bodies! ;)

Stay cool everybody and don’t forget to check out the new video that we published yesterday!

Singing Sunday with Partillo! PEACE! /Big Steve.

Tonight on my channel: Firsty Friday and gaming!

September 14, 2012 at 7:00 AM

Big Steve & Game 2Back in the gaming couch! Tonight is Firsty Friday on my YouTube channel, so we played it teenager-style with energy drink and hack’n'slash games. I supppose you can guess the drink, but can you guess the game?

/Big Steve.

Big Steve & Game 3

Big Steve & Game 1

By the way have you seen this post, when I’m looking for my afro??

And this is how you shouldn’t go…

Tonight Cross Cart!

September 13, 2012 at 8:11 PM

Hello again friend!

In tonight’s video I’m driving cross cart. At first I said “cross what?” but when I understood that it had to do with cars and engines I knew this was going to be my cup of tea…

Formula 1 on TVI have studied a lot of racing ;) Some of my friends back in the UK are real Formula 1 addicts and growing up close to the Silverstone circuit I am used to the roaring engines. Those endless days in the sofa trying to speak to my mates while they were glued to the tele….

Anyways, a racing challenge – and I was up for it!!

How my race ended?? Find out below my friend!
